The COMPSTAT (Computer Statistics) program is a tool used by the Jersey City Police Department in our efforts to reduce crime. The computer statistics system is utilized to track crime incidents, generating electronic pin maps of crime locations. The police department is then able to analyze this information and develop strategies to structure a response utilizing appropriate resources.
